Another season is approaching, Autumn, with its special colors, scents and moods…it feels like a different autumn though this year…

At times we might feel like we are struggling, feeling uncentered, disconnected, not only from other people, but sometimes from ourselves, from our very core…

Given everything that is happening in our lives at present it would be remarkable if we did not sometimes struggle in this way. I certainly have. Whenever we feel emotionally down or disconnected, and especially recently, amid all the turmoil globally, engaging with the simple yet profound power of a daily movement practice, taking care of ourselves, taking time to be “here and now”, are the elemental ‘survival’ tools that we can use to ‘surf through’ these unstable times. 

The wheel of yoga studio is there to support you in these challenging times, with both ONLINE and LIVE yoga classes and Ayurvedic programs, spanning from warm medicated oil treatments to nutrition advise and health related Yoga and Ayurveda workshops. 

Ayurveda, being the science of life, propagates the gifts of nature in maintaining healthy and happy living. Ayurveda’s extensive knowledge based on preventive care, derives from the concepts of “Dinacharya” – daily regimes and “Ritucharya” – seasonal regimes to maintain healthy life. It is a plant-based science. The simplicity of awareness about oneself and the harmony each individual can achieve by uplifting and maintaining his or her immunity is emphasized in Ayurveda & Yoga. Ayurveda advocates multiple preventive approaches in order to stay healthy and happy in body and mind. It advises always to make use of an appropriate lifestyle, good eating/drinking habits, use of herbs and spices in food and integrate contemplation in your life. Come to learn & practice how to best take care of your own health, by boosting your immune system and your awareness so to be able to find your center anytime you need to. We look forward to welcoming you on our programs.

In this new season Iyengar Yoga beginners ONLINE & LIVE Yoga new courses are about to be launched, invite you r friends and beloved to join us and make their own experience of Yoga. 

The ONLINE beginners course will be composed by 10 classes and they will provide a sequential very structured introduction too Yoga to ensure that a solid foundation is established. As a result, more meaningful and consistent progress can be made, allowing the individual to reap more of the benefits of Yoga. The LIVE yoga course for beginners, also composed by 10 weekly classes  in the lovely atmosphere of the wheel of yoga studio, will provide an interactive and playful approach, where we can also learn from each other in a safely manner. Small groups max 6 people per beginners course, so that each individual gets personalized assistance and support. You can take your own yoga mat and a towel to cover our props at the studio when you use them, or you can take two blocks if you prefer and this makes you feel safer. We have all props at the studio and we regularly sanitize them to prevent any risk of virus spreading. Find here the link to these new Yoga beginners courses, both ONLINE and LIVE.

A new Ayurveda ONLINE beginners course will also be launched in this season, to learn how to conduct a daily routine which is personalized to your own constitution, to help you to maintain your health and adapt your lifestyle to manage and support your health throughout the “waves” of life.
In addition to the above courses, we’re about to launch a special new Yoga class “Yoga Nidra” to help you restore your energies, improve your sleeping patters and brighten your concentration through surrendering and visualization. It will be a regular weekly class on Friday afternoon which will include both restorative Yoga practice and Pranayama or breathing awareness.

Last but not least although Pauline Daniels has decided to quit teaching at the studio for personal circumstances, I am honored to welcome 3 new teachers at wheel of yoga studio: Donald with his great energetic, positive and playful approach to Yoga, Johanna with her creative, loving, caring method and Francesca; her deep knowledge of music and love for yoga provide her with a very special approach to teaching. Come and meet them soon, they look forward to sharing their knowledge with you. I would also like to give a special thank you to my dear friend and colleague Veronica, who has been giving yoga classes as a donation to the studio in the past difficult months.   1. De yogalessen van de Wheel of Yoga staan zowel ‘live’ als ‘on-line’ garant voor enorme kennis, goede uitleg ,positiviteit en persoonlijke benadering.
    De lessen kenmerken zich door een goede opbouw, en stimulans om het beste uit jezelf te halen in een prettige sfeer.
    Altijd heb ik deze lessen naar waarde weten te schatten, maar nu zeker in coronatijd waar ontspanning en inspanning in juiste balans zo belangrijk zijn. Het deed mij altijd goed, maar nu nog meer in deze vreemde tijd!
